Official permission obtained for Community and Family medicine publications to be made open access in NF digital library

Dr. Rajendra Surenthirakumaran, Head, Department of Community and Family Medicine, has obtained official permission to make available for free access publications on Community and Family Medicine in Noolaham Foundation’s digital library. An event was held in this regard on 2015/06/21 at 09.30am at Noolaham Foundation’s programme office in Jaffna. Foundation’s director Mr. Seran Sivananthamoorthy, Technical College Lecturer and former Chief Programme Executive of Noolaham Foundation Mr. Lambotharan Sivarajah, Communication and Public Relations Officer Mr. Srivakeesan Sriranganathan and Digital Library Officer Pirapakar Nadarasa participated in this event on behalf of Noolaham Foundation.

The foundation started digitization of publications on Community and Family Medicine last year and has archived 135 Books and 10 Magazines via this project. These publications are related to the fields of Health, Nutrition, First Aid, Diseases and Symptoms of Diseases, Psychology, etc. These digitized works are available in Noolaham Foundation’s Digital Library website www.noolaham.org. Dr. Rajendra Surenthirakumaran also engaged in a valuable discussion with NF staff on the foundation’s services to the Tamil speaking community. Mr. Lambotharan Sivarajah provided a copy of the publication which includes papers presented at the Tamil Documentation Conference held in 2013 book to Dr. Rajendra Surenthirakumaran.
